Tooth Extraction & Bone Grafting

Sometimes a tooth may need to be extracted for reasons including overcrowding, infections, and tooth injuries. We will recommend  extractions if we examine the tooth and find no way to restore the tooth. We may also recommend a bone graft to preserve the site of the extraction if a tooth replacement is needed.

Bone Grafting

When a tooth is extracted, a large hole is often left in the bone, that often only partly fills in with typical healing. Bone grafting is a minor surgical procedure that is normally done in a dental office. Grafting material is added to the extraction and sutured in place.

This is especially helpful for situations when an implant is being considered in the future.

Call us at 403-328-1953 if you need an extraction.

If you require an extraction, discuss with Dr. Wong and her team the option of preserving that site with a bone graft. It is a decision that will provide more options for replacement of that missing tooth.
