Pediatric Dentistry

The Canadian Dental Association recommends infants be assessed by a dentist as he/she reaches age of one. The goal is to have your child visit the dentist before there is a problem with his or her teeth. In most cases, a dental exam every six months will let your child’s dentist catch small problems early.

Whether you’re nursing or bottle feeding, you should start with some regime of dental hygiene as soon as possible. Before any teeth erupt, wipe down the gums with gauze or a soft, wet washcloth. Once teeth begin to come in, keep them clean. Using the right set of tools is essential for this daily ritual. For example, it is important to purchase a toothbrush designed specifically for babies, which will have a much smaller head, for their tiny mouths.

Dr. Wong and our friendly team will strive to create a positive experience for your child’s dental care. We have created a compassionate, family-centered environment that fosters long-lasting relationships.

Here are 4 reasons you should bring your child to us:

  • You can find out if the cleaning you do at home is working.
  • We will identify any problems and have them corrected.
  • Your child will learn that a dentist is there to provide them with a lifetime of good oral health.
  • We offer a variety of sedation options for children who may need special care.

We may want to take X-rays. X-rays can show decay between the teeth and will show if the teeth are coming in the way they should.
