Seniors Dental Care

As we get older it is important to maintaining your dental health is just as important as your overall healthcare. Geriatric dentistry involves services for patients that may have complex medical and social histories who deserve a wide range of services, including restorative, preventative, and diagnostic care. Dr. Wong will make sure every patient, family member, and/or caregiver is informed about all services and procedures.

Dry mouth will contribute to a higher incidence of decay. It is often a by-product of medications as well as aging. We have recommendations to help combat dry mouth as well as prevent the increase in caries so commonly associated with it.

As you age, your dexterity is not what it used to be. The ability to manipulate a brush and floss properly is a clear obstacle to preventive care that patients with arthritis or other disabilities need to address. We teach alternative methods and provide tools for successful home care that patients have found very helpful.

Worn, ill-fitting full and partial dentures make life difficult for many seniors. Implants may be the perfect answer to years of not being able to chew properly. Ask how implants may work for you.
